After working so hard in Ohio and then coming home and working a straight week of 12 hour days, I knew Bren needed a well deserved break, so I surprised him with a long weekend road trip to St. George. The weather was already so nice here that we couldn't wait to see how nice it would be there!
While at work on Friday as I was sitting at my desk so antsy to leave on our little getaway, I looked up and saw my cute boy with flowers! The cutest surprise from my Valentine himself!
When I got home after work, I had another lovely surprise--my Madewell tote came! (My Valentine's gift to myself- yes those are still allowed when you're married) When Bren got home from work I made sure he met the newest member of our family.
We then grabbed some dinner, drove all night while finally listening to Serial, which helped time fly, and hit the sack. When we woke up I had one thing on my mind...
Because I wouldn't start this day of love off any other way. Fractured Prune for the WIN!
After a little shopping at the local Old Navy and TJ Maxx, it was time for golf, because marriage is all about give and take my friends. It was so fun watching Bren do the thing he loves (he probably wouldn't say the same about watching me shop- I think that just makes him scared).
I so win wife and Valentine of the year ;)

Hey babe, Yoda one for me
Doin his thaaaaang
Golf really is such a respectable and classy sport. Bren and I always talk about how we want our kids to play it because it teaches you great people skills -if you love the sport enough, you'll go play by yourself, and will have to talk to the people you golf with all day. I am positive that's where Bren got his!
I even gave it a shot the next day HA.
The rest of the trip was filled with treats

and lots of sunny walks and bike rides.
We were attached at the hip for 72 hours and it was HEAVEN since I've been somewhat husbandless during the week.
I give this weather, this weekend, and this Valentine 5 gold stars.
Looks fun! Give and Take is right my friend! xo, Alex
ReplyDeletewow, my obsession for that tote just grew 100x. This post is trying to push me over the edge ;) so cute! (now i'm off to beg my husband... again. haha)
ReplyDeleteThat lipstick though. You're rockin it like nobody's business.
ReplyDeleteIt’s very sweet of your husband to still be making those gestures, despite being together for a long time. Anyway, the bag you got for yourself is gorgeous. It may be quite simple, but that’s what make it look amazing. But I think the golf time tops it all off, since it is very nice to see married couples doing each other’s hobbies together. Thanks for sharing this with us, Ash. All the best!
