Dear Brennan

To my husband in six days:

I want to be the first person you come to when you've had a hard day. And I want to be the only one who can make you feel better. And yes, I will love you when it's easy, when it's perfect. But I will love you even more when you need it the most, when you feel your least perfect. I want to laugh so hard with you that we have tears streaming down our faces, and we fall off our couch. We will never ever go to bed mad at each other. We will be quick to forgive, like we always have. We will pray together every night. There will be so many times when I will be with you witnessing my love grow for you right then and there, and it will be the coolest feeling. I will always adore you like I have from day one. We are going to be poor newlyweds, and I'm excited for it because I hear those are the best times. We will be smart and we will do what we're supposed to, and it will all work out. We won't worry about things because that will get us nowhere. I will put your needs and wants before mine, and you will do the same for me. We will remember that our marriage is a covenant and we will always treat it that way. We will remember that we get to live together forever because of Heavenly Father, and our marriage will make Him so proud, I know it. You were made for me Brennan, and I will never forget how lucky I am to have found you. I will be so good to you. And I hope you'll be proud to call me your wife.

                                                                                                                              Love,

                                                                                                                              Your Ashley

-NOT riding on the back of a motorcycle, contrary to what that picture tells you. I hopped on for a picture, and then Bren took it around the block by himself, and even that worried me. The poor boy wants a motorcycle SO BAD, and if he wasn't so cute I might consider letting him have one. But I would like to keep his perfect face and body parts where they're all meant to be.

-Pulling my hair out trying to decide what songs we want for our wedding video. You read that and think I'm being a dramatic, but if you've been there, I'm sure you feel for me. I realized I don't listen to that many love songs, and that's also depressing.

-Remodeling the condo Bren and I will be living in. This is almost as much work as planning a wedding, and without my superwoman mother, ...I couldn't even tell you. She amazes me everyday.

-Trying to build my fall wardrobe before I get married (because I know us poor newlyweds will not be shopping) while also trying to save for married life (rent, car payments, phone bills). THE STRUGGLE.

-Having more homework than I've ever had. I'm really good at picking classes that give the most homework. It's a gift, really. Thankfully I have my wonderful fiancé who helps me with it for hours when he'd rather be watching football.

-Hitting 6,000 page views in a little over a month on this silly blog, which put a little skip in my step.

-Being called "Miss Birth Control" by Brennan. (This is not a compliment.)

-Accepting that no matter how well you plan, things are going to go wrong, and not even caring. Because I am marrying the best boy in the entire world.

-Loving Brennan so much I don't even know how it's possible for me to love him more than I do now. I'm not trying to be cheesy. It's a serious concern of mine.

-Getting married IN TEN DAYS.

Let me blow you away for a minute...

When you see this tablecloth on the cake table at the reception in 15 days,

I want you to know that it took my amazingly talented grandma two entire days to do it.

And then I want you to know, that not only did she do that tablecloth,

but all the other tablecloths there.

Wait, there's more.

She also made Brennan & I the most unbelievable quilt that she gave to me at a shower last week,

AND sewed my sister-in-law Morgan, who she's never met, a darling baby blanket.

She gets Grandma-of-the-Year Award, hands down.

And I sure love her.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend was so much fun this year that I forgot to take pictures... whoops. But here's how it went:

Friday, Brennan had his bachelor party. His best friend Brent is getting married this Friday, and their friends did a combined party for the both of them, where they went to dinner, paintballing, and played video games until 2 in the morning. I was promised there would be no strippers. While he was busy doing that, I went to Anthro and The Dodo with my darling friend Chloee. She is one of my all time favorite people, not to mention the best shopping partner. After that I went and hung out with Bren's friend's wives. We decided to go spy on our boys, who were at Sean's, and his whole family was out of town, so Tay (his fiancĂ©) helped us break in. They had no clue we were upstairs spying, until some of the girls got a little confident and decided to sneak downstairs, and then, CAUGHT. But totally worth it.

Saturday, the Gregory's threw Morgan and I the most darling combined baby and bridal shower. Those things take SO much work, and I feel like I can never say thank you enough times for all that they do. While I was at the shower, Bren's bachelor weekend continued and he went golfing with friends. Later that afternoon I finally got to see my boy, and we went up to Park City to see my dad finish a mountain bike race he did up there. We then went with my parents to dinner and relaxed the rest of the night.

Sunday, we woke up to my mom telling us that a Draper cop had been shot just around the corner from our house. We were told to lock our doors, and church was canceled, so our day was spent watching The Great Gatsby and napping until it was safe for me to drive to the Gregory's. When we found out that the cop was Derrick, our family friend, the news became even sadder. He was the hardest worker and funniest guy, and his little boy made your heart melt. He even got us out of our speeding tickets. Rest in peace Derrick, we love you.

Monday, I ran some final wedding errands with my mom and Ari, and then met up with the Gregory's in Park City where we shopped and ate at Davanza's Pizza and Java Cow, some of the best food there. After that we came home and Brennan helped me with my Spanish homework. (Yes, I'm in Spanish 1010, don't ask why because I couldn't tell you.) He was the BEST tutor ever, way better than I expected, and I learned so much. Just add that to the list of reasons I love my perfect boy.

Oh and last thing...September happened. September has always been my favorite month, and the fact that it's now my wedding month gives me constant heart eyes. This is the month I will be a wife, the month I will have a husband, the month I will change my name, the month we will move into our own little place, the month I get to be sealed to Brennan so we can be together forever. I hope forever is long enough.
