A Night with the Littles

On Friday, Brennan & I got to hang out with our favorite people ever, Greta & Ezra Gregory while their oldest brother Jude had a night planned with his parents. It was perfect timing because this weekend, the sing-a-long version of Frozen was in theaters! I was so excited to take them I couldn’t even wait until work was over.

Bren picked them up on his way home from work, and they came running into our condo along with their Elsa, Ana, & Sven dolls all ready to go.  We asked them where they wanted to go to dinner and they screamed, “McDonalds!!!” and I said, “Where did you go for lunch today?” and they screamed, “McDonalds!!!” so we thought they probably shouldn’t go there twice in one day and headed to Chick-Fil-A.

Greta ordered a side salad, her favorite food because it has cherry “tome-ate-toes”, and even though we got some dirty looks from people who thought we were forcing our daughter to eat salad, she was in heaven. Bren introduced Ez to dipping his fries in ranch, and he went to town, finishing all his dinner, and even chugged Greta’s chocolate milk when she wasn't looking. After they played in the play place for a bit, we headed to Target to kill some time and get some movie treats. But as soon as we stepped foot inside, Ez & Greta let go of our hands and started booking it for the toy aisles.

After we finally got them to leave the toy aisles, they picked out some gummy ring pops and sour patch watermelons and off to the movie we went!

The cutest part of the whole night was when “Let It Go” came on during the movie and Greta ran down to the front of the theater and started dancing and singing right along with it. She can’t read yet, but she still knew every single word and dance move to every song in the movie. After she did that, every other kid in the theater came down to the front and danced to all of the rest of the songs too. HOW CUTE IS THAT.

Things I learned that night:
1. Little kids don’t walk, they run. At all times.
2. They don’t watch for cars.
3. They are more interested in crayons & coloring than eating.
4. You have to ask them if they need to go potty.
5. They don’t close the stalls when they go potty.
6. They want to play with their kid’s meal toys while they go potty.
7. They make you laugh harder than any adult can.
8. They get a lot of stares from people, both good and bad.
9. It takes twice as long to get anywhere.
10. There really are no words for how special they are.

It was such a fun night, and although Brennan said he doesn't want kids for 5 years now, we all know he’s not kidding anyone, because it's not birth control when the kids are this cute. Even though we aren’t ready to be mom & dad for a long time, it was sure fun to play them for the night!
